LOW DOSE NALTREXONE

At Revive RX, we frequently prescribe Low Dose Naltrexone to also fight inflammation. This dose specific medication is available by prescription through compounding pharmacies. In the past this medications has been prescribed to treat opioid addictions, now off-label uses aid patients with conditions ranging from pain and a dysfunctional immune system, to inflammation, cancer, and mental health issues.

How does it work? Naltrexone works by temporarily binding and blocking a mechanism called the MU receptor, which is linked to pain. Blocking the receptor tells our bodies that we aren’t producing enough endorphins (our natural pain relievers), and then releases them. This medication is most effective if taken at night before bed.
